About the talk

The Sound Blaster card came out in 1989 and broke sales records to become the most popular PC sound card of all time. The exact details of how it works haven’t been understood until this recent reverse engineering effort. Eric discussed the analysis methods used and the operating principles of the sound card — both of the hardware and the firmware.
